HEADNOTE: Accused Raman Aggarwal (Director, Odin Healthcare Private Limited) gets anticipatory bail; Nitin Goel, Honorary Secretary of Chandigarh Club, listed as key witness.
Kharar: In a significant development in the high-profile ₹7 crore extortion case registered in 2025, the police have formally presented the challan (chargesheet) in court. The case, which revolves around a complaint filed by Chandigarh-based lawyer Gaurav Dhir, has seen major legal shifts regarding the key individuals involved.
According to the latest court proceedings, accused Raman Aggarwal, the Director of Odin Healthcare Private Limited who was named in connection with the extortion threats, has been granted anticipatory bail. Meanwhile, Nitin Goel, the Honorary Secretary of the Chandigarh Club, who was initially scrutinized during the preliminary investigation, has now been officially listed as a prosecution witness in the police challan.
The case stems from an FIR registered late last year. The complainant, Gaurav Dhir, alleged that on August 31, 2025, while sitting at his father’s construction office in New Chandigarh, he received a threatening phone call. According to the police complaint, Aggarwal allegedly demanded that Dhir hand over ₹6 to ₹7 crore to another Chandigarh Club official, executive member Vikas Bector. Dhir was reportedly warned that he would face “dire consequences” if he failed to pay the extortion money. Bector was subsequently arrested in October 2025 by the Mullanpur police and later granted bail.

With the challan now presented before the magistrate, the trial is expected to commence shortly. The inclusion of Nitin Goel—given his prominent position as the club’s Honorary Secretary—as a witness is anticipated to play a crucial role for the prosecution in establishing the chain of events that led to the ₹7 crore extortion demand.
Further hearings are scheduled in the coming weeks as the court takes cognizance of the chargesheet.
This draft is based on the information supplied; the chargesheet and bail orders have not been independently examined. Accused does not imply the guilty of any name.
