Assam News – The results of the exit polls for the 2026 Assam Legislative Assembly elections have intensified political activity within the state. According to projections from various agencies, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to hold a clear lead in the 126-seat Assembly. As per the exit polls, the BJP is projected to secure 63 seats, thereby emerging as the single largest party.
Meanwhile, the Congress (INC) is projected to finish in second place with 29 seats. The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) is expected to win 15 seats, while the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is projected to secure 8 seats. The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) is likely to win 5 seats, with the remaining 6 seats expected to go to other parties and independent candidates.
These figures clearly indicate that the BJP-led alliance could once again form the government in the state. Although the final results will only become clear after the vote counting, the exit polls have already sparked intense discussions regarding the strategies of the various political parties.
Experts believe that this time around, voters cast their ballots with key issues such as development, security, and stability in mind. A robust voter turnout in both rural and urban areas has also made this election particularly significant.
Humaari Baat maintains that exit polls are merely projections; the true picture emerges only on the day of the vote counting. Nevertheless, the participation of such a large number of people demonstrates that democracy is growing stronger. Citizens must continue to exercise their franchise, as it is precisely this act that determines the future of the nation.
